The English business magazine The Diplomat–Bucharest organizes the second edition of its national Forum exclusively dedicated to thermal power - Thermal Energy Forum 2016, on February 18, 2016, at InterContinental Hotel Bucharest.
The implementation period for the Romanian Thermal Heating Program 2006-2015 consisting in various investments in generation, transmission and distribution of thermal energy has been extended until 2020. By 2015, only 95 million Euro out of initially allocated total amount of 480 million Euro have been used to finance the program. The remaining amount is intended to finance the program between 2015 and 2020. The program continues to support the modernization of thermal power plants and the improvement of thermal energy supply services by implementing the energy efficiency policies. A higher consideration has eventually been given to the development and implementation of cogeneration power plants..
The first section of Thermal Energy Forum 2016 brings into discussion the updates on national energy program, regulatory framework for production, transport, distribution and supply of thermal energy, autonomous heating vs centralized heating systems (SACET), the centralized power systems models and promotion of the high-efficiency technologies in thermal heating.
The second section will be dedicated to cogeneration and district heating, support scheme for high efficiency cogeneration, priority in using biomass as fuel, promotion of industrial cogeneration, restructuring of existing thermal systems solutions by concession, ways to finance new projects and the impact of liberalization of natural gas and electricity market agreed with the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and European Commission.
The event is organized unde the patronage of ANRE and the National Authority for Public Municipal Servicies (ANRSC)
