PPC Energie has announced the launch of an innovative new offering, PPC Ore Smart +, featuring a dynamic electricity tariff that provides lower prices during weekends and nighttime hours throughout the year.
Starting at a final price of just 0.98 lei/kWh, PPC Ore Smart + extends the duration of reduced-tariff periods, giving customers more flexibility and savings opportunities. The new contract is the only one of its kind in Romania to combine a dynamic pricing model with extended low-cost intervals, which are available to household customers equipped with smart meters.
Customers can benefit from reduced energy prices during:
- Weeknights from Monday to Friday, between 00:00 and 05:59
- Entire weekends, from Saturday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59
- Daily, from March 1 to October 31, between 11:00 and 14:59
During these periods, the active energy price is as low as 0.348 lei/kWh. Outside these intervals, the standard active energy price is 0.823 lei/kWh. For residents in Bucharest, the final price, including all taxes, reaches 0.98 lei/kWh during low-tariff times, compared to 1.56 lei/kWh outside those periods.
An average household with a monthly consumption of 300 kWh could save approximately 580 lei annually by shifting 75 kWh of usage into the reduced-price intervals. The savings vary depending on individual consumption patterns and the portion of energy used during low-tariff periods. Electric vehicle owners could realize even greater benefits by scheduling charging during these times.
The PPC Ore Smart + offer is ideal for those working from home or able to plan appliance use—such as washing machines, ovens, air conditioning, or EV charging—during periods when energy is cheaper and the share of renewable energy is higher, thus reducing environmental impact.
Customers with smart meters installed by their distribution operator do not need to submit manual readings, as invoices will automatically reflect actual consumption recorded in hourly intervals. The installation of these meters is carried out by local distribution companies in accordance with the schedule approved by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
PPC Energie continues to innovate, offering flexible, environmentally conscious energy solutions tailored to modern consumers’ needs.
