The largest solar project in the world

MidAmerican Energy Holdings, owned by Warren Buffett is determined to make the largest solar project in the world. Between 2 -  2,5 billion dollars will be invested in exchange of the project and the construction work of two farms of solar panels .

The construction works will be carried through SunPower over the next three years. MidAmerican took over from SunPower Corp two projectcs located in the Los Angeles area, with a capacity of 579 MW. The former owner will operate the farms and will also conduct the maintenance works on a multi-annual contract.

As known, Warren Buffett began last year to increase investments in solar energy. The most important acquisition is located also in California and 2.4 billion dollars were paid for this farm. California is the largest solar market in the United States.
