Serbia will build one of the largest solar parks in the world

Starting with the spring of 2013, Serbia with Securum Equity Partners Company will start building one of the largest solar parks in the world. It will have a capacity of 1,000 MW and will be completed by the end of 2015.

Serbia already has approved the plan for this huge solar park. The estimated cost is around 1.28 B EUR and will produce around 1.14 terawatt hours a year. The panels used will be provided by MX Group Southeast Europe.

Serbia will try to provide land free of charge for this solar park having in view that around 500 jobs will be created once the solar park will be running. In the meantime, for the construction of this solar park, around 3,000 people will be hired.
The electricity that will be produced will be exported in Western Europe.
