Currently the fees are based on SEWRC (State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission’s estimates, but having in view the continued protests from the energy companies as well as from the foreign chambers of commerce, the head of Bulgarian State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation announced that they will need at least 6 months in order to collect the data needed to establish how large the grid access fees have to be.
China is one of the biggest investors in Bulgaria’s renewable energy system. Since 2012 a Chinese company has perfected a solar park in Ihtiman and another Chinese company plan to invest in a big green energy project has been announced.
The current situation might force Chinese companies to seize the operation in the renewable energy sector in Bulgaria due to the impossibility of implementing the investor’s business plans.
