E.ON Energie Romania Advances Green Energy with Solar Plant for Webasto

E.ON Energie Romania has achieved a milestone in the green energy sector by completing the construction of a solar power plant dedicated to the Webasto factory in Arad County, under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This strategic partnership will provide Webasto with 1,530 MWh of renewable electricity annually, covering over 23% of its energy needs.

Valued at €1 million, the project positions E.ON as a green energy producer, offering Webasto fixed, inflation-indexed pricing over a 15-year period. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 467.74 tons annually.

Claudia Griech, General Manager of E.ON Energie Romania, expressed the company's commitment to expanding its PPA offerings and supporting partners in enhancing sustainability while mitigating exposure to energy price volatility.

Webasto Romania’s Director, Koehler Philipp, highlighted how the PPA aligns with their sustainability objectives, providing a solid foundation for long-term planning.

The solar plant, featuring 3,360 modules with a total capacity of 1,545.60 kWp, is located on Webasto’s land in Zimandu Nou, Arad County. This project underscores the commitment of both companies to the energy transition and showcases effective collaboration in sustainability efforts.

Currently, E.ON Energie Romania's photovoltaic project portfolio includes over 392 completed projects, totaling €74 million and generating more than 104 GWh of energy, resulting in a reduction of approximately 23,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
