Kosarom will provide approx. 10% of the required energy from photovoltaics

The Kosarom company, one of the largest producers of meat products in Romania, will invest 278,000 euros for the installation of photovoltaic photogenerators with a power of 400 kWp.

The project involves the installation of 889 photovoltaic panels, on an area of 3,550 square meters, on the roof of the Kosarom unit in Paşcani, Iasi county.

The photovoltaic generator will produce 10,425 MWh in the next 25 years, meaning a reduction in electricity costs of approximately 2.1 million euros. The investment will be amortized in less than 4 years.

The solar project covers approximately 11% of the company's energy needs and involves a reduction of the carbon footprint of 131 tons and radioactive waste by 1.3 kg per year and will be carried out by Restart Energy, one of the largest suppliers independent of electricity from the local market in Romania.
